How we evaluated it
Why we chose it What put it on our list
- The safety listing matches the model. Intertek’s ETL directory lists SW Corp, trade name SaunaSpa, with SC-SS0022-2P among the dry sauna rooms evaluated to UL 875 and CSA C22.2 No. 164.
- At about $1,974 it is among the lowest-priced cabins we found with an ETL listing that names its exact model. Our infrared pick from JNH costs about $2,900.
- It plugs into a standard 110 to 120 V outlet, so no electrician is needed, and the maker lists a 5-year wood and 1-year electrical warranty.
- The product page makes no detox, weight-loss or calorie claims. It names the wood: Canadian hemlock.
Trade-offs What to weigh before you buy
- The page says “low EMF” and gives no figure, lab or distance, so that claim is not verified. If EMF matters to you, our infrared pick from JNH publishes its test details.
- It tops out at 149 °F (about 65 °C), well below the roughly 80 °C of the Finnish studies. Infrared has little long-term research (see our infrared vs traditional page).
- It includes an oxygen ionizer, chromotherapy lights and a speaker. The maker gives no emission data for the ionizer.
- The page says the natural wood finish may vary and does not state any glue or finish. The wood warranty is 5 years but the electrical warranty is 1 year.
- Indoor use only, and it ships curbside only, so plan for moving a heavy crate indoors yourself.
What to know Details worth knowing first
An infrared cabin warms you with panels instead of hot air, and it usually runs near 140 °F (60 °C) or lower. The long-term Finnish studies used traditional saunas at about 80 °C, and our infrared vs traditional page explains how little comparable research exists for infrared. This Anzzi cabin is here for readers who want to try infrared on a small budget.
What earns it a place is the paperwork. Product pages often say “ETL certified” and nothing more. Here we found the exact model, SC-SS0022-2P, in Intertek’s own directory under the SaunaSpa trade name. The weak spot is EMF: the page says low EMF and gives no number, so we treat that as unverified.
Expect a plain cabin with extras you may not want, and ask a doctor first if you have a heart condition or are pregnant.
Quality & testing How it measures up against our checklist
- Third-party tested
- Yes
- Tested by
- Intertek (ETL listing, model SC-SS0022-2P)
| What we checked | What we found |
|---|---|
| Heat that matches the research Maker’s claim | The page gives a temperature range of 149 °F (65 °C), a maker figure. Infrared is not the heating method of the Finnish studies. We have no measured cabin temperatures. |
| Untreated, low-odor wood Maker’s claim | Canadian hemlock construction with tempered glass door panels. The page says the natural wood finish may vary. It does not say whether the wood is treated or what glue is used. |
| Safety certification Verified | SC-SS0022-2P appears in Intertek’s ETL directory, in the SW Corp (Miami, FL; trade name SaunaSpa) listing for Electric Dry Bath Heater (UL 875) and in its sister listing to CSA C22.2 No. 164. SW Corp is also the company Intertek lists for Anzzi-brand products. The listings show no certificate number or date. |
| Materials that hold up to heat Maker’s claim | Not a tent or blanket. A hemlock cabin with tempered glass, as described by the maker. |
| Electric and magnetic field claims Not verified | “Low EMF” far-infrared panels. No measurement, distance or lab is given. Not verified. |
| Marketing claims Maker’s claim | The product page makes no detox, weight-loss or calorie claims. |
| Recalls Verified | A search of the US Consumer Product Safety Commission recall database on 2026-10-22 found no recall naming Anzzi, SW Corp or SaunaSpa. |
What the labels mean
- Verified We opened an independent record that confirms it: a certifier’s listing, a regulator’s list or a lab report. It is linked under Sources.
- Maker’s claim The maker says so on its own page or label. We read it but found no independent record.
- Not verified We looked and could not confirm it, or the maker does not say. Treat it as unknown.
