Momentous Essential Multivitamin
Reader ratings
A four-capsule multivitamin listed in NSF’s Certified for Sport database, with lot certificates online. Its page text leaves out the 50 mcg of K2 that its label image and certificates show, which matters on warfarin.
Best for People who want a multivitamin with public lot certificates and are comfortable with four capsules a day, and who do not take warfarin or other blood thinners.

How we evaluated it
Why we chose it What put it on our list
- NSF’s Certified for Sport database lists “Essential Multivitamin” from Momentous: capsule, 120 count, serving size 4 capsules, with gluten-free and GMO-free claims.
- Momentous posts a certificate for each lot (17 certificate files for the multivitamin when we looked). We opened lots 0301C6 (made 12 May 2026) and 0285C5 (made 13 March 2025). The 2026 lot reports arsenic 0.080, lead 0.240, cadmium 0.070 and mercury 0.003 µg a day for four capsules, gluten under 20 ppm, and no Salmonella, E. coli or Staph. aureus.
- Every ingredient has an amount on the label image, the forms are active ones (methylfolate, methylcobalamin, pyridoxal-5-phosphate, bisglycinate minerals), and it has no iron.
- The 2026 certificate measured vitamin D at 58.5 mcg against 50 mcg claimed, niacin at 71.1 mg against 60 mg, and magnesium at 197 mg against 150 mg; most other lines are printed equal to the label.
Trade-offs What to weigh before you buy
- It contains vitamin K, which matters if you take warfarin. The label image on Momentous’s page lists 400 mcg of vitamin K1 and 50 mcg of K2 (menaquinone-7), and both certificates we opened list the same, but the page’s text ingredient list shows only the K1. NIH’s copy of the label (January 2025) says “If taking a blood-thinning medication, consult a health care practitioner before using.” Ask a prescriber before using it with warfarin or any blood thinner.
- Niacin is 60 mg, listed as niacinamide and niacin, and the split is not stated. The US upper limit for niacin from supplements is 35 mg a day. It was set to avoid flushing, a side effect of nicotinic acid that niacinamide rarely causes (Linus Pauling Institute). Momentous says the formula avoids megadosing.
- It adds plant extracts beyond vitamins and minerals (quercetin 50 mg, trans-resveratrol 10 mg, tocotrienols, broccoli seed extract), at amounts that are listed, and it costs about $1.83 a day.
- Large trials found little protection from a daily multivitamin for people who eat well; see our guide before deciding you need one.
What to know Details worth knowing first
Our multivitamin guide says large trials found little protection against heart disease, cancer or early death from a daily multi, so treat a multi as a way to cover gaps. This one has NSF’s listing and public lot certificates, which is more than most multis offer.
The open question is the K2. Momentous’s label image, its certificates and a federal copy of the label all show it, and the page’s text list does not, so we are asking Momentous to confirm the current label. If you take warfarin, talk to your prescriber first.
The other points to weigh are a niacin dose above the usual US limit, with the caveat in the trade-offs, and a price of about $55 a month. For how seals and certificates work, see how to tell if a supplement is pure.

| What we checked | What we found |
|---|---|
| Third-party tested Verified | Listed in NSF’s Certified for Sport database as “Essential Multivitamin”, Momentous: capsule, 120 count, serving size 4 capsules, lot field “All”. The listing shows no certification date or status. |
| A certificate of analysis Maker’s claim | Lot certificates opened for 0301C6 and 0285C5: heavy metals, gluten and microbes reported; a few nutrients assayed (vitamin D, thiamin, niacin, magnesium), the rest listed at the label amount. These are Momentous’s own documents (“Ship To: Momentous”). The heavy-metal rows name Light Labs (2026 lot) and SGS (2025 lot), and the 2025 gluten row names Eurofins. |
| The right form Maker’s claim | Active forms for folate, B12 and B6; bisglycinate or malate minerals. Niacin as niacinamide and niacin, 60 mg, is above the 35 mg US upper limit, which was set for flushing. |
| A plain label Maker’s claim | Every ingredient has an amount on the label image on the page. The page’s text ingredient list omits the K2 that the image, the certificates and NIH’s label database (vitamin K 450 mcg) show. |
| Disclosed extras Maker’s claim | Hypromellose (capsule), microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, silica. |
| Interactions Maker’s claim | Contains vitamin K: 400 mcg K1 and 50 mcg K2 (MK-7) per four capsules. The label in NIH’s database carries a blood-thinner warning; the page text we read shows none. |
What the labels mean
- Verified We opened an independent record that confirms it: a certifier’s listing, a regulator’s list or a lab report. It is linked under Sources.
- Maker’s claim The maker says so on its own page or label. We read it but found no independent record.
- Not verified We looked and could not confirm it, or the maker does not say. Treat it as unknown.
