Pillar Performance Triple Magnesium Tablets
Reader ratings
A three-form magnesium tablet (310 mg per two) that Informed Sport has listed since June 2022. The label does not say how much each form contributes, and we have not seen a current batch certificate for a US jar.
Best for People who want a tablet that combines glycinate with other forms, and who accept that the split between forms and the current batch results are not yet public.

How we evaluated it
Why we chose it What put it on our list
- The US label gives the total clearly: magnesium 310 mg per serving of 2 tablets, as magnesium amino acid chelate, magnesium citrate and magnesium glycinate. Pillar’s US page names the chelate as TRAACS magnesium bisglycinate.
- Informed Sport’s own page for “Triple Magnesium - Professional Recovery” (Internet Archive copy, 7 December 2024) lists a tablet certified on 14 June 2022, available in North America, with 15 batch entries tested between February 2023 and November 2024. The 60-tablet US jar carries that name and the Informed Sport mark, and Informed Sport’s public list of certified products, which we opened on 22 October 2026, still names it.
- It is vegan and free of gluten, dairy, nuts, soy and egg, per Pillar. The other ingredients are listed: microcrystalline cellulose, stearic acid, croscarmellose sodium, silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate and an aqueous coating (sodium carboxymethylcellulose, dextrin, dextrose, medium-chain triglycerides, sodium citrate).
- The US store sells it in 30-serving ($38.99) and 60-serving ($59.99) jars, so US buyers do not need the Australian store, which ships only to Australia and New Zealand.
Trade-offs What to weigh before you buy
- We have not seen a current batch certificate. The archived Informed Sport page stops at batches tested in November 2024, and Pillar’s certificate library page says it is being updated, with certificates available on request by batch number. Pillar describes its batch testing as laboratory screening for prohibited substances and does not say the certificates cover magnesium content or heavy metals.
- The label does not say how much of the 310 mg comes from each form. Our guide to the types of magnesium notes that citrate can loosen stools, especially at higher doses.
- 310 mg per serving is close to the 350 mg upper limit for supplemental magnesium, so there is little room for other magnesium supplements. Ask a clinician first if you have kidney disease or take medicines that interact with magnesium.
- It costs more per serving than the other magnesium products we list: about $1.30 a serving, against $0.57 for Momentous (200 mg) and $0.87 for Thorne (200 mg).
What to know Details worth knowing first
Our guide to the types of magnesium explains why glycinate is the form most often chosen for a sensitive stomach, and our page on magnesium and sleep covers what the research says about it at night. Pillar’s Triple Magnesium combines three forms, with 310 mg of magnesium in a serving of two tablets, and sells them in the US through its own store.
The label is clear about the total and vague about the split. Informed Sport lists the product, and you can search the batch number on your jar in Informed Sport’s database to see whether that batch was tested. We have not seen a current batch certificate, and we are asking Pillar for one and for the split between forms.

| What we checked | What we found |
|---|---|
| Third-party tested Verified | Informed Sport’s page for “Triple Magnesium - Professional Recovery” (Internet Archive copy, 7 December 2024) shows brand PILLAR Performance, formulation type tablet, certified 14 June 2022, available in Europe, North America and Oceania, with 15 batch entries. The live page refused our automated check, so we could not see anything newer. Informed Sport’s public list of certified products (22 October 2026) still names this product and, separately, a powder. |
| A certificate of analysis Not verified | No current batch certificate seen. Pillar’s Australian certificate library page says it is being updated; its US page tells buyers to search by batch number or email info@pillarperformance.com. The Informed Sport batch list shows batch IDs, expiry and test dates, not results. We found no potency or heavy-metal results. |
| The right form Maker’s claim | Magnesium amino acid chelate, magnesium citrate and magnesium glycinate, 310 mg of magnesium per 2 tablets. The split between forms is not stated. |
| A plain label Maker’s claim | One active line with a total elemental amount. The per-form amounts are not given, but it is not labeled a blend. |
| Disclosed extras Maker’s claim | All other ingredients named, including a coating with dextrin, dextrose and sodium carboxymethylcellulose. |
| Dose against the upper limit Maker’s claim | 310 mg per serving against a 350 mg upper limit for supplemental magnesium. |
