Ginger Turkey Lettuce Wraps
A fast, light lunch of savory ground turkey and water chestnuts spooned into crisp lettuce cups.
A high-protein, low-glycemic lunch; swapping tortillas for lettuce keeps it light without losing satisfaction.
Ingredients
Instructions
- Heat the sesame oil in a skillet over medium-high. Add the turkey and cook, breaking it up, until browned.
- Add the garlic, ginger, and carrot; cook 3 minutes.
- Stir in the water chestnuts and tamari and cook another 2 minutes until glossy.
- Separate the lettuce into cups.
- Spoon the turkey into the lettuce cups, top with green onions, and eat with your hands.
Tips
- Water chestnuts are what give the classic crunch — keep them if you can.
- Make the filling ahead and warm it; assemble wraps fresh so the lettuce stays crisp.
